the Curious One

Boy Otter 2

Middle pup — explorer and discoverer, lover of mangrove roots

Gentle, fascinated, deliberate.

Boy Otter 2, the Curious One, peeking out of a hidden den entrance between giant ficus roots, holding a small shell under one paw

The middle pup watches first and tries second. While his brother charges ahead, he pauses mid-step — nose down among the roots, studying a shell, a pebble, a dragonfly.

He is the collector of the family: he picks up shells and leaves and carries them around, and he can often be found asleep hugging his newest find.

His golden sandy coat is lighter than Mama's, and his round face and soft cheeks make him easy to tell from his slim brother.

🪨 The collector

Shells, pebbles, interesting leaves — if the river gave it, he's probably holding it. Watch for something in his paws in almost every scene.

Fun facts

  • Two dots on my chest — not a diamond (that's my brother) and not a heart (that's Mama).
  • Check the tip of my tail — it always ends in a little white brush!
  • I never travel without something interesting in my paws.
